This year’s guest speaker is Shawna Mitchell-Hayhurst!
Shawna Mitchell-Hayhurst/ Fire Badger Woman has owned Cassy’s Multicultural Gifts & Healing Centre in West Texas since 1993, providing spiritual/healing tools while sponsoring retreat weekends, workshops, sacred ceremonies, drummings, & other events. A Usui, Karuna, and Tera Mai Reiki Master/Teacher, as well as a Shaman’s Touch Master Teacher/Practitioner, Hover Touch Practitioner, Oneness Blessing Giver, facilitator of the 9 Rites of the Munay-Ki,and former Hospice volunteer, she loves guiding people to the power of Creator and their own Inner Healer. She is certified through White Bison, a non- profit Native American organization, as a Mending Broken Hearts Facilitator, as well as a Medicine Wheel 12 Step Wellbriety Firestarter and facilitates both these programs inside and outside of prison walls.
Although she has educated herself and become familiar with many different religions and spiritual paths, and enjoys ministering at her local Unity Spiritual Living Center, Shawna’s heart was touched by the Red Road at a very young age. She considers her Centre’s Bear Lodge her church and is more comfortable “pouring water” than standing in a pulpit. She believes Creator has gifted her with seeing the commonality in all paths seeking Spirit and believes that one of her purposes in life is to be a “Bridge Builder”. Shawna’s ease in connecting with many different cultural and spiritual paths inspires people to open their hearts and minds while supporting and respecting diversity.
Shawna has been ordained through Golden Eagle Ministries International since 2005, and established Golden Eagle Ministries Texas shortly thereafter. She Studied under the Ministry’s founder, R. Serge “Runningwolf” Martel and continues to carry on facilitating and teaching Serge’s Natural Healing Modality Shaman’s Touch. Her ministry includes providing ceremonies, rituals, education, and mentoring for individuals who have chosen a spiritual path desiring transformation, healing and spiritual growth. This includes facilitating spiritual ceremonies and educational classes for Native American offenders in the Texas Prison System as a TDCJ Native American Contract Chaplain. When she questioned her calling to minister within the prison system, what she has realized is that Creator has gifted her with seeing the Creator/Christ Light in everyone , therefore she can minister with an open heart and light spirit. She has also realized that by bringing Creator’s Light, Love, Healing and Transformation to these men and women, Creator’s Light, Love , Healing and Transformation is brought to their families, relationships & communities.
After the near death experience of her husband Tony and subsequent ongoing rehabilitation and healing process , they both have been challenged physically, mentally , emotionally and spiritually . This experience has led them to re-affirm their spiritual foundation and faith, and the importance of maintaining their Spiritual Centre.
Shawna and her daughters have been long time supporters and members of the GOC Community and she is looking forward to bringing Tony up the Mountain and sharing the insights they have received during his remarkable Healing Journey.
