Morning Cliff...I just wanted to pass on some information to the
community...as you know, The Little-Big Medicine Sun Dance is held June
20-27th this year...once again this will be in Wheatfield, AZ on the
Navajo reservation. This particular Sundance is open to all
races-religions, etc...However, I've decided to put out the information
to our gathering of circles community for two
reasons...first...volunteers are needed to help support the
dancers...kitchen help in the organic kitchen...medical
professionals...massage therapists...wood collection
specialists...facilitating the ongoing sweat lodge fires and many
more jobs that can use volunteers...and if you don't know what to
do--show up and volunteer for anything--and last but most
important--supporting the dancers...everyone needs to bring their little
medicine and in combination we make big medicine...Unfortunately, I
cannot be there this year...my mother has been diagnosed again with
cancer and I have committed my time to her during the time of the
Sundance...I will regret not being there but the Great Spirit calls me
to be with my relations...This is a wonderful opportunity for our
community to be available for support of our larger

I thank you for the phone call yesterday. I am honored that you are asking
for information about our journey to California. Quite frankly so many
people with the GOC, do so many awesome things I am overwhelmed with the
honor that you have asked me to share our story. Approximately six
months ago I was contacted by the Spa Director of the Laguna Cliffs
Marriott in Dana Point California to do consulting on some natural
products that they were looking to use in their new Premier Holistic
concept Spa. The idea of a very high profile spa wanting to utilize
natural products was needless to say very exciting and in my thoughts
progressive. After doing the consultation on approximately 30 different
products that ranged from body scrubs to herbal tonic drinks, the report
was sent to the management and was apparently very well received. I felt
as though the contact was beneficial as well as productive to those that
have attempted to support natural products for so many years. And thus I
thought my job was complete at that time. In late October, I was
again contacted by the Marriott to consider performing a blessing and
dedication ceremony for the new Spa and grounds of the Marriott. Again it was a honor that can not be put into words. Because of my spiritual background and my training in holistic medicine, and the fact that I was familiar with their concept, they felt as though this would be a perfect mesh for their purposes. I of course accepted the invitation and began praying for the proper timing and people to come together to best do this particular ceremony. And as we all know prayers are answered in some of the most mysterious ways. One weekend on a short visit to San Antonio, Pamela and Brett came by Kathy and my home. During the course of the conversation the California trip came up. Immediately, Pamela offered to be the pipe carrier that I was seeking and Brett, offered to assist in the ceremony as well. My prayers had been answered. Now the timing was the only element remaining. That soon was answered as well. The timing of the event was to take place during the migration of the Gray Whale to Mexico. Spirit made sure that the timing was right and people were all in place. The ceremony, will be an all day event on Friday Feb 6, with reception, and two separate ceremonies. I will also be conducting a training class during the week before for the staff. The time of the private ceremony is scheduled for 3:00pm California time and 5:00pm will be the media and public ceremony. The invitation list is approximately 110 individual companies and directors of various companies in the industry. In closing, the story is really quite incredible and reflect a progress in thinking and a higher awareness. This is progress that we have all been asking to see. The honor that we have been given as a group is an opportunity to allow others to see and share in a healing and rejuvenation. Thank you for asking me to share this story. I am honored that you were interested in our journey. I am grateful for the knowledge, friendships, and love that has been extended by the GOC. I am also grateful for the relationships that have grown and cultivated since my first visit to the GOC. hope you and your family are well in body as well as spirit. I have
recently come across a wonderful little book that seems especially
pertinent to these troubled times: A String and a Prayer: How to Make and Use Prayer Beads by Eleanor Wiley and Maggie Oman Shannon, ISBN # 1-59003-010-9, Red Wheel Publishers. This is a tiny publisher and local bookstores may not carry it. But some may be able to order it with the ISBN #. It is also available by mail order though ISABELLA, 800-877-5205, or online : www.IsabellaCatalog.com. It occurred to me that this time of war is the perfect time to make prayer beads and use them for the good of all the suffering peoples of our Mother Earth. Perhaps there could be a workshop this summer on the making of prayer beads. Or people could start making their own prayer beads now and there can be a workshop of people sharing about the process of making and using their prayer beads. I am still not sure if I will be able to attend this summer. My uncle, who lives in San Antonio, recently had a serious stroke and will have to be moved from his home. I am thinking that any discretionary travel $ that I have should be spent going back and forth to San Antonio to help my niece and nephew, who have 3 small children under 5, and who will be caring for my uncle. I was trying to use my mind to ease the pain of my broken arm (which I did Tuesday on my motorcycle) and I was inspired to sit down and write this: I am writing my family to tell them what I feel coming in the next few days. It will be peace on earth. For me, I am there now for that is all there really is. Namaste! (One part of all that is one.) Out of love for me (part) I am writing you (all) to hear what I believe to be so. We are all master's of illusion, we have created all that you see before you now so we could experience everything and we have all done a wonderful job at this. Be glad in your hearts for all is our choosing, and in this let this be as your magic wand for you and I can choose again today anew and in all the days of our lives after this day. Remember, that people are people all over this planet who love someone like I love you and I choose not to bring harm to them that love like you and me. So, at this time I and others like me all over this planet are choosing peace on earth and goodwill towards all earthlings from the tiniest beings here to the all that is. I have not seen or spoken to you for years, yet finding this web site for the first time, I am compelled to write to you. I have missed you all so very much, and you are in my thoughts and prayers on a regular basis. The lodge in El Paso/Santa Teresa/Cloudcroft seems a million miles away, I have not been to a sweat or to a gathering in 7 years, yet it is incorporated to everything I do and am. I hope this letter finds you in good health. Please pass along to others that you know and see in the circles that I say hello and that i am alive and well in Austin Texas. I am married to a wonderful woman named Cindy and we are expecting our first child in July of this year. I work in pharmaceutical research doing clinical trials. Life is full and good. I have noticed an increasing void in the area of my spiritual life, and spend much time thinking of wonderful times, caring people and moments that have changed the way I am forever. Please write back if you have a moment. I would love to hear from you. I have just written Pam and Brett. I saw a letter from July. I hope Pam is doing better. Hello Friends, Tremendous progress since my last update. The doctors took Joy off the ventilator and put a plug in her trach, so she can now talk. She also has menu of liquids to choose from. She remembers her life - people, work, plans, family, etc. Thankfully, she does not remember the accident. Although she talks, she has to struggle - so it wears her out. She is very aware of the situation and is distressed, scared, worried, uncomfortable, etc. you can imagine. She alternates between being lucid and not. Sometimes she just sleeps. She moves her right arm and that's about it for now. She can feel her left side, but not move it. Kaysie is in Galveston now - visiting Mom and working out the transfer process. It seems the ins co will negotiate with an Austin facility, so we are going to look at that again. Thanks for you continued support. Kelly |

(my mother, Joy Knox) : Uncle Jimmy visited with Joy yesterday (Wednesday).
He got her to write! She first wrote "HOME" - he explained that she was in
pretty bad shape and would not be able to go home for a while. He asked her to write her name and she wrote "JOY"
Then she wrote "NO FOOD" - he explained how the feeding tube worked.
Yea! She is back in the SICU - where she was at the beginning. The insurance company has decided to negotiate with a facility in Austin. I'll let you know when that decision is made. Kelly |

As of Saturday morning: Although her overall condition has not changed, our spirits were lifted recently because she has started to open her eyes on command. She isn't looking at any thing and her eyes don't move, but she is voluntarily responding to the command to open her eyelids - which gives us hope. She is going to have surgery on Sunday, Dec 8. This will be to work on her pelvis and a couple of other injuries. My family is doing as well as can be expected. | 11/25/02 | From Kelly Knox: Dear Friends, I need your help. I have the intense need for you all to know my family and I are in crisis. I just have an urge for you to know how I feel and what is going on. On Friday evening my mother, Joy Knox was walking across a busy street in Texas City and was struck by a pickup truck going about 40-50 mph. She is in ICU at John Sealy Hospital at UTMB in Galveston. Her condition is very grave. Her injuries are quite extensive (skip this part if you don't like the details): Pelvis area is very broken up - this alone, I am told is a life threatening situation, she has lost lots and lots of blood. There was some complications that have resulted in a blood flow problem to her right leg below the knee - it will be amputated when she is stable. Good news is that none of her organs sustained any critical injuries from the impact. Her brain seems to have been spared any injuries from the impact. However, because of the loss of blood, she may have brain damage and other complications are setting in. She has several broken bones and we are not sure of her back. We do know there is a crack in one of the vertebras in her neck. There is so much more, I just can't go into it. She is in a coma and intubated, she is also on meds to keep her heart beating at a certain rate. She does not respond to anything. She is not yet considered stable and no further invasive testing will be done until she is. She could be completely recovered in one year or she could decide to pass on today. I am very scared. I am making every effort to express myself honestly. Sometimes my honest expressions are very negative and fear based and sometimes they are very hopeful and positive. I continuously direct my thoughts to the NOW. In this moment, she is in no pain, In this moment, I can be here.... When I am with my mother I express to her what I really want to say. I am thankful I have the courage for that. Everyone I meet in the waiting areas are angels sent to comfort me. I accept their messages with an open heart. I am with my brother,Tobin and my sister, Kaysie. Madison is with a friend in Houston. My uncles, CA and Jimmy are also here with us. We have a beautiful, comfortable place to stay at Jimmy's, just 20 minutes away from the hospital. At this time we are taking turns. As I can, I will send messages to you. Thank you for your prayers, thoughts, healing. I know this is all okay, there is divine order in this - I may see it later - but I know there is order here - as with everything I have every experience. I love you all. Kelly |
| 11/05/02 | From Lois Colbridge: Dear Hearts - Tonight was the night of our New Moon spirit gathering. As I sat tonight, I gave myself the gift of feeling the energy and love from my fellow Hearts. Three weeks ago I began a new job as guidance counselor at an elementary school here in Spotsylvania. My background is in counseling, but working in the school setting is new to me. I applied for the position when I returned from the Gathering of Circles in August. At that time I consciously asked Spirit to lead me to the place where I am to be now. (As if Spirit hasn't done this all along! I guess this time I was finally just letting myself realize that this was what was happening, and actively welcoming it.) So many things just "fell into place." Far too many for me to think that this is just coincidence. Still, as I said, working in the school setting is new for me, and at times I feel a bit overwhelmed. When I remain centered and calm, I remember that the Universe has put me where I am to be and that I can count on it to ensure that I have the knowledge, wisdom, and tools that I need. In my not-so-calm moments, my old insecurity demons kick my butt. Today the demons kicked my butt but good. Tonight I have been so very blessed to sit as part of our circle and know that, while I may be the "guidance counselor" at the school, the true guidance comes from the Force that has brought all of us together, and that allows us to support and sustain each other as we each play our own part in the larger scheme of things. I just want to send to each of you my love and thanks for the caring and support you give me, whether we are together face to face or in spirit only. From Cathy Bails: You're all definitely in my heart! I am preparing for a trip to Peru with Ann Postma, Betty Burlock and other women dreamers led by Connie Kaplan. We will be leaving Oct. 31 for LA and returning Nov. 13. I'm going through a period of quiet contemplation, dreaming and trying to manage the "real world" challenges. I will be with all of you in spirit. Physically I need to spend time at home with my family . Lots of love, blessings, to all of you on your journey. I am sorry to tell you that some things have come up -- Matt and jail again, money issues, etc. -- and I won't be able to come after all. Please put Matt in the light there on the mountain. Most everyone has known him most of his life. He is really lost and self-destructive right now. Minor in possession, mostly. Other stuff, too. He doesn't seem to be drugging any more, but he's got the bad-drunks really bad. Binging whenever he can and then getting picked up. He still has a few classes to finish to graduate and the plans to join the military will depend on how his legal record goes from what I understand. Just please have those sweet people hold my precious and lost boy in their hearts there on the sacred mountain. I wish I could join you. Love, Victoria |

Milton: Cliff, I have had something come up that I wanted to share with you and ask for your prayer and that of our circle at large. I have had repeated Level 4 (worst on the scale) pap smears for the last year and a half, and all the non-intrusive treatments like freezing of the cervix and leepectomy (excising a piece of skin about the size of a quarter from the mouth of the cervix) have not cleared up the appearance of pre-cancerous cells. So my gynecologist has scheduled me at Hendrick Medical Center on July 12 for a cold knife cone biopsy and fractional D & C. It is outpatient surgery which involves taking out a cone-shaped hunk from my cervix and the mouth of my uterus (it will result in my being rendered unable to carry a baby ever again - but that is not an issue with me at my age), as well as taking quite a few random biopsy samples from up in my uterus. I should be able to recuperate over the weekend and return to work on Monday or Tuesday of the next week. The results of this procedure will tell us if I need a hysterectomy or not, and if I do, whether I need a "plain" hysterectomy or a "radical" one. Of course, I don't want a hysterectomy at all, and especially not a radical one, which involves not only taking out the uterus and cervix, but also all the ligaments and cartilage all around the cervix. The doctor says he doesn't think the radical one will end up being the one needed, but won't know until the cone biopsy comes back from the lab. Anyway, in light of all this, I am thinking very seriously about withdrawing my presenting of the chant workshop at GOC. I will be very busy getting the workshop brochure ready in time, and that will be pressure enough on top of "losing" a weekend for this surgery, as far as things to do before the Gathering. Then when I get to the Gathering, would probably appreciate just being there with little responsibilities so I can heal. I'm working at having the most positive attitude possible and visualizing everything working out for the best. I surely appreciate knowing you and my wonderful friends are there! We feel on many levels the need to remain in England this time around - things are just flowing that way so I trust you'll trust our trust in that flow!!! I do see us at GOC sharing our circle's knowldedge and music but unless there's some big change it's not going to be this year. There is a very positive heart connection from people when I mention the GOC concept and I'm sure that GOC England will manifest as the awakening continues apace. I will keep you posted. | 06/08/02 | from Connie Williams: Dear Hearts, Saturday: 7:37 am . . . . Please send energy. Have been in Lubbock eleven days with my mom. The punctured her lung during a central line procedure, then her lung collapsed and they sent her to her room without notifying anyone. She hermoraged and has been in maximum pain. This is a real life comedy of errors. I don't know what to do sometimes. She has asked for no heroic measures; however, she is fighting desperately for life. What a trooper! She really wants to live. I am just home to grab clean clothes, pay the bills and get some running money, have to be back by noon as there is no one else to stay with her which is necessary. Connie |
