Mitchell is the Workshop Co-ordinator for 2005
She is responsible for getting all the workshops together and scheduling them. It is a tough job. She also prints up the workshop info to have available at the GOC.
Shawna has owned a metaphysical/multicultural store called Cassy's in Abilene, TX since 1993.She is a Reiki and Shamanic Touch Master/Teacher. In addition to the store, and sponsoring 3 drummings a year there, she has recently opened Cassy's Healing Centre which she envisions as a sacred space not only for healing and massage, but also to provide workshops, meditations, and shamanic drummings within the community.
An ordained Golden Eagle Minister, she finds her joy in her two daughters, Kelsey and Icie, her spiritual family, and service to others. Love, Strength, and Gratitude are gifted to her by participating in Ancestor Reverence, Sweat lodges, Vision Quests, Native American Church Meetings, and praying with the Sacred Pipe.

How quantum physics and the mind body connection are changing medicine and the way we experience health. Take an exciting journey with me through studies and experiments that have shown that the body is controlled by the mind. We are like man was in the 14th century when he found out that the world wasn't flat. What was once science fiction is now common scientific knowledge.
I have been fascinated with the advances in science especially quantum physics for a number of years and have a bookcase full of wonderful books on the subject. My qualifications for teaching this course have nothing to do with my college degrees and everything to do with my burning desire to KNOW. Let me share with you the joy this knowledge has given me.

Cliff will lead a "Shamanic Journey" to the "lower world" to find your "power animal". Your power animal is a "helper" to help you understand yourself through understanding the various traits and characteristics of your power animal. Cliff will use the powerful sound of the drum as a vehicle for your travels. Discussion will follow.

Buchanan and Mike Andrews - Vision Quests
If you feel that you are at a crossroads in your life or if you have questions about the intent and purpose for your life then you may benefit from a Vision Quest. What is my life purpose? What is my gift? How can I manifest my special talents? What are my special talents? What am I supposed to be bringing to the world to make it better? These are some questions that a Vision Quest can help answer.
Mike and Cliff will cover the answers to some of these questions and talk about how to prepare one's self for a Vision Quest. We will do a guided meditation on visioning.
Cliff and Mike have Vision Quested with Bear Heart and organized Bear Heart's May 2005, September 2004, and September 2005 Vision Quests. Mike is authorized to sponsor and lead Vision Quests in Bear Heart's tradition.

Hughs - The Importance of Ritual in Our Lives
Think back to the last time you were smudged-remember that feeling of entering sacred space. That is an example of ritual and the way in which it moves us into a moment out of ordinary time. Come let us explore why we use ritual, how you can enrich your life with daily ritual...share the ways in which you have added elements of ritual. As time allows I will talk specifically about the use of herbs in ritual.
I am a family nurse practitioner, a student of herbalism and aromatherapy, and a confirmed ritualist... whatever that may mean. I feel my main contribution to my spiritual community is to hold sacred space (especially at my farm) and in doing that I use ritual to maintain an essence of healing and spirit in the environment.

A. Popp - Journal Writing Walk & Talk
Bring pen and paper and join in a short walk for each of us to find a small object to write about--a stone, a leaf, a feather, etc. We will discuss the power of personal journal writing in our lives. No previous writing experience necessary.
Rita Popp teaches writing and a college and life success class at Doña Ana Branch Community College in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She writes fiction and has a background in journalism and public relations. She earned a master’s degree in creative writing at New Mexico State University.

Dawn - Sharing My Stories
Enlightenment is my goal and has been as long as I can remember. Enlightenment means remembering who you are and living as fully and as impeccably as possible. I’ve discovered that I can’t tell you how to do this. So I will share some of my stories of waking up to who I am, remembering why I am here, and how I attempt to live to that purpose each moment of my life.
Carol retired from fourteen years of teaching at Dine University on the Navajo reservation in December 2004. She now resides in Odessa, Texas but spends most of her time traveling in her motor home. She is a respected elder at the Gathering Of Circles and likes to be called Grandmother.

The Baha'i Faith encourages, as do other religions, detachment from the material world and a clinging to God for guidance. Learning to "walk the spiritual path with practical feet" takes clear vision and effort. Join us to examine quotes from Baha'i sacred scripture, as well as other religions and disciplines, to spark a discussion of how to look at and practice the virtue of detachment.
Mike is a therapist with practices in Lubbock and Midland, focusing primarily on substance abuse and sexual problems. he has been a follower of the Baha'i Faith for over 35 years, with an interest and appreciation for studying all spiritual practices.
