Join us for Healing Hearts at Cedar Ridge Farm in Trent Texas.
The theme for Healing Hearts this year is “RITUAL”
We
will explore the importance of Rituals in our daily lives and how they aid us in
staying balanced and healthy. Cedar Ridge Farm offers a sacred and peaceful
place for you to learn more about ritual, and the role it plays in our daily
lives. This sacred space is held and cared for by Cyndi Hughs and Mike Morrison.
The farm is home to a 60 foot herb garden Medicine Wheel, 2 Sweat lodges, and
the Three Sisters Labyrinth, which is the largest 15 circuit labyrinth in North
America.

FRIDAY: 6pm-7pm: Arrival & Setup
7pm: Introductions

SATURDAY: 9am: Introduction to Ritual-Shawna Mitchell
Many cultures use ritual not only on special occasions, but in their daily lives. We will seek to define “ritual” and briefly explore different types of rituals and their benefits.

10am: Introduction to Plants as Ritual Helpers-Cyndi Hughs
Throughout history, plants have been our allies in numerous ways. In this session, we will discuss some of the herbs that may be used for rituals and their specific gifts.

11am-1pm : Mid-day Break- Labyrinth Walk Ritual & Lunch At this time you will be given the opportunity to explore the ritual of the Labyrinth Walk for the benefit of your personal journey.

1pm: Protection Rituals for Healers
We are all “Healers”, be it through conventional medicine, alternative healing practices, or by the role we play and the contact we have with our family and the people whose lives we touch daily. This session will illustrate ways we can keep ourselves protected and balanced while being of service to others.

2pm: Men’s Group and Sweat lodge Ritual- Cliff Buchanan
In this workshop FOR MEN ONLY we will build a sweat lodge from the ground up following our traditions and rituals as a community of men. The rich symbolism of the inipi will be explained as the lodge is constructed, dedicated, the fire and stones stacked, and finally the we will partake in the world wide indigenous ancient ritual of the sweat lodge.

2pm: Women’s Crone Ritual and Sweat lodge- Cyndi Hughs
This ritual will celebrate the stages of Women’s lives: Maiden, Mother, Crone. (females 11 yrs and over welcome) The ritual will climax in a joyful celebration and crowning of the Crones in our midst. “In women’s medicine, one of the most powerful times of life is menopause: it marks a passage to Grandmother Energy, to the wise woman or crone phase.” If you are entering or have entered this phase in your life we would like to honor you in this Crone Ritual. 2pm: Rituals of Childhood- Kelsey Densman
Experience the childhood ritual of play from different cultures.
Children of all ages are welcome!
SUNDAY: Sunrise Ritual

Giveaway Ritual- Cliff Buchanan
Bring a gift wrapped in a paper bag for the **give-a-way.**This should be an item that represents something that was significant in your life that you are now ready to release~

INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW
Directions: The meeting place will be Cedar Ridge Farm. The farm is located on I-20 at mile maker 258. The entrance to the farm is on the South access road approx. ˝ mile West of White Flat Road (the entrance will be well marked). The house is located at the end of a one-mile road.

Cost: We depend on donations to pay our out of pocket expenses like postage, flyers, port-a-potties and workshop materials. No monies go to any individual in the form of payment for any activity. We have a suggested donation of $60.00 which will go to the Gathering Of Circles fund. However, we do not want finances to prevent anyone from attending, so any donation you can make (according to your level of financial ability) is appreciated.
Camping: Camping is available in the field East of the house, or on the ridge behind the house. You are responsible for your own meals and camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag, rain gear, food, coolers etc.) Please bring a camp stove as we DO NOT ALLOW INDIVIDUAL CAMPSITE FIRES. If you do not have one, people that do are generally willing to share. Port-a-potties will be available. Water is available from the hose at the house.
**Honor and respect the land and natural life on it as part of our family. Treat it as you would like to be treated. Do not bring alcohol or drugs. Dogs must be leashed at all times. **
