It was decided that we invite all five of our previous speakers back for our tenth anniversary GOC event. We discussed what to do about the $300 stipend that we normally award to the featured speaker. Cliff stated that we could not afford to give the stipend to all speakers which would be $1500. Carolyn offered to sponsor one of the speakers, Cyndi offered to to sponsor one, Pamela and Brett joined in and then Cliff said he would sponsor one. that left one to be sponsored by the GOC funds. Problem solved.
The Theme voted for was : "The Power of Healing" suggested by Donna Kirby, and it was also suggested by others to incorporate the healing arts of Massage, Reiki, Back walking, and others, etc. (to be given without charge) during the gathering. Jazz Jaeschke had e-mailed Cliff to present the idea to build a labyrinth at the GOC. Labyrinths have been used for centuries for healing and meditation purposes. The committee approved. Donna suggested that we have a large banner with our tenth anniversary, logo, etc. five or six feet long that would be placed at the entrance to the campground.
Later, we discussed changing the dates and locations of Healing Hearts, as well as the Men's retreat, and the Women's retreat. After the meeting many of us enjoyed the Sweat Lodge ceremony directed by Mike, and afterwards, a very nice peace Pipe Ceremony by Pamela. Some went to the Sweat Lodge in the rain, while others remained on the porch and drummed. Many of us bought fresh brown eggs from Cyndi's free-range hens, We enjoyed a wonderful potluck dinner. Everyone had a very good time, and is thankful for Cyndi's gracious hospitality in opening up her warm and cozy home.

The planning meeting
was hosted by Cyndi Hughs, Cedar Ridge Farms.
She has graciously invited us to her wonderful home in Trent, Texas. I stopped
by after Christmas this year and took some pictures with my new Cannon camera.
They are shown below. She has built a wonderful medicine wheel, a sweat lodge, an
altar, and lots of
parking/camping space. Also, plenty of floor space. We encourage you to
plan on spending the night on Friday night and Saturday night. The business part
of the meeting is scheduled from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday but please use
this time not only for that but also for fellowship and renewal. We will also
have a sweat lodge on Saturday night. Directions and a map are also available
below.

4 miles west of Trent or 12ish miles east of Sweetwater...exit 258, White Flat
Road. If you are coming from Sweetwater you take the White Flat Road exit
and make an immediate U-turn. Right after that turn you will see a
cultivated field with a cattle guard that turns into the field. There are
ribbons on the fence and a small green sign that says "AG Hill, WW
McElmurray lease." Once you make that turn over the cattle guard it
is 1/2 mile straight (take no turns, forks or curves) back to the house.
You will cross another cattle guard about half way and then one at the house.
Our house is the only one so if you find a house you are there.
If
you are coming from the east, take the 258 exit-White Flat Road. Go over
the over pass to the access road on the south side of the interstate. Go
west on the access road to the end of the cultivated field and follow the
direction above.
